Mary Scholl
Mary Scholl is an experienced educator and teacher trainer with a career spanning over two decades. She holds a double MA in teaching English and Spanish from SIT and has taught in various settings, including language schools and universities in Japan, as well as in elementary schools in the US. Mary co-founded Centro Espiral Mana in Costa Rica, a professional development center that has trained over 1,200 teachers through its TESOL Certificate courses and other programs. She has worked extensively in Latin America, Asia, and Africa, and has contributed to educational projects funded by the US State Department. Mary co-authored the book Understanding Teaching Through Learning and developed the ECRIF framework, which is widely used in teacher training. She is currently pursuing an EdD at Teachers College and continues to support teacher development through consulting, workshops, and online courses. Mary lives on a small farm in Costa Rica, where she enjoys nature and community life.
